The right religion would devote resources into ethical scientific pursuits and away from purely secular ones which follow a “just because you can” approach to scientific progress which is what we have today and which is in a dangerous run-away condition. In fact, science divorced from ethics is probably the great filter if not one of them. Just like the bastardized field of economics, science has been raped to serve corrupt interests rather than the people which largely negates most of its virtues.
