you're gonna have to be more specific than that, what kinds are they, what are you concerned about? are you planning on eating them, what kind of job did they preform before?

I just search for an ordinary way to check a stuff used by other unfamiliar people.
I have old stuff and want to know if it safe (as much as it can be checked).
I don't know anything about previous owners of this stuff.

I know - you can check radiation with a digital camera.

What about other possible bad things? Mercury evaporation (maybe someone dropped mercury inside this stuff), maybe something else...

I know - here is a lot of people have some old stuff they got from ebay and other second hand markets.
How would you check such old stuff for bad things?
