On the other hand, these masonic lodges are now the principal religious and political movements across Europe. This radical and revolutionary movement was founded on European ideas about democracy, freedom, and free association, and thus arose from a clash of ideologies. It began as a movement against the power and influence of the aristocracy which was under the care of the British crown in England and France when the monarch was alive. It continued under the same influence for the rest of the century, under the influence of Freemasons, who came out of the working class in America. Their influence in this movement was immense and was most clearly reflected in Freematical letters such as the "Lemons of Grand Lodge Horsham" written by the leading figure in the Freemasons
