>>14205811Suddenly, out of nowhere, "amazing new break through in fusion power" reported in a multitude news medias.
An area which has rarely mentioned in mainstream media before, despite the fact they have been working on it for decades.
Upon investigation it turns out they have improved efficiency a bit in what is really just an academic exercise at the moment. But normies will read this as "cheap clean energy just around the corner, our troubles are soon over!" I am sure you will hear politicians and big energy companies alluding to it in the near future. We just got to put up with spiraling costs and pollution for just a little longer. Similar to how normies were sucked in by the whole renewable energy bullshit, which is now becoming increasingly paper thin to even the most casual observer.
Maybe I am bitter and jaded, but I now regard any mainstream news trend with deep cynicism, its more manipulation and propaganda than information. In this case I would guess its a case of "The natives are getting restless, shall we send another gunboat?"
"No. I think this time we give them some more blankets and shiny buttons. That should keep them content for a few more years"
