>>14203482>well, by this logic, anything you do is a leap of faithCorrect.
Some leaps are bigger or smaller than others. Some leaps are so obvious they are axioms.
Let me show you this zero-knowledge proof: "You can't suffocate yourself by holding your breath."
I've just declared this statement as true, and I have provided no data to back it up. And yet you know it is true because you don't need my data. It's because you have the tools capable to test this experiment. And yet, you aren't even going to try the experiment because you are sure (assumption on your part based on your life experience) your body's reflexes will win against your free will eventually.
Zero-knowledge proofs are statements which are true without further consideration needed. If you need to explain, it is not zero-knowledge.
>many orders of magnitudeI like this sentence. If a fraudulent corporation uses zero-knowledge algorithms to embezzle money, is this considered a proper use for such software, or is it improper? You can't blame a bad guy for using a gun. You can't blame NSA for trying to learn about everyone's shit no matter the cost.
I miss when Snowden was in the news. Shit was more hopeful.
