How much remorse we feel for killing something is generally correlated with their intelligence/self awareness. For example, if I had to choose between killing an average person or a retard of the same age, I would choose the retard because they have "less to loose". Therefore, if there is a way to make farm animals be born retarded without affecting the final product, it is our moral imperative to do so. ITT explain how this could be done. Selective Breeding? Genetic engineering? Injecting chemicals in the embryotic stage?
