Truth is humans are actually pretty shit swimmers. Blacks, for instance, have far denser skeletons than other groups of humans, they sink like rocks. Yet supposedly Africa is where this swimming took place.
Humans also have the highest dehydration tolerance of any ape. This gorillas or whatever have to drink gallons of water every day, humans are extremely water efficient compared to their relatives, in fact our nose shape (the portrusion) was evolved to conserve water, which is why people from the driest places have the highest amount of nose protrusion (the middle east and Europe)
