>>14195257First of all, I'm not in CS, but I recognize there is a huge demand for it through all major cities in Germany. The jobs pay well, and you can expect to come out middle class assuming the market continues to be in demand.
I'm a biochemist/immunologist in grad school, and programming skills are incredibly necessary for modern day data science, there are even mandatory courses we must take in my program to learn to code in MatLab and other languages.
I don't know what will happen if "everyone" goes into CS. All I know is that OP seems to have a interest in the field, and all I'm saying is that there is a demand that needs to be fulfilled, and "biology" isn't something that is innately useful if you aren't planning on specializing.
>>14195169Yeah I guess so, but now I'm 30k in debt while my Euro counterparts have none, haha. You're doing the right thing with learning independently. I don't know how it works in the CS market, but would it help for future prospects to go back to school and get some sort of certificate/diploma in CS?
