Is anyone here a civil engineer/ing student? I’m just in calculus 2 so I have yet to take the main courses
Do you use math often in your jobs if you have graduated? I enjoy integration honestly and I’ve never liked math that much before

Irl you'll never need calculus again. Pass differential equations and you're home clear.

FYI no one does hand calculations for anything. Industry standard is design software that does the real number crunching.

Mechanical, rarely use advanced math in machine design, and that seems typical of other engineers I know.

You can cram, pass your tests, and forget. However, if you do learn it, it's super impressive to everyone if you can solve a non-obvious problem with some higher math.

In retrospect I wish I'd learned the math better when learning the math was my only responsibility, but I'm doing fine without it.
