>>14186753>>>14184897 (OP)>It is real. The solution is simple. Nuclear power. Hydroelectric power. Most of the place we can put hydro already have hydro power. Nuclear has a lot more growth potential and will be an important baseload energy source in the future but it's very capital intensive to start up and so you need lots of government support (and therefore lots of free state capacity) to do. Plus all the Green anti-nuclear autism.
>Thats the solution, but since nobody takes it serious they make dumb claims like for example saying that people in the first world need to make a conscious decision at the individual level in order to fix it, which is false, since most of the emissions are controlled by a small amount of peopleDumb lefty talking point. Emissions are a result of the rising living standards of billions of people, we need economy-wide changes to reduce emissions as a result.
>Instead we deflect the problem as a society and fall for stupid memes, like wind power, solar power etcWind and solar are great energy sources. Dirt cheap per kw/h; easily scalable unlike, say, geothermal; and viable all over the world. Intermittency remains their greatest weakness but it's not going to be long before we crack that issue through large-scale storage projects, smart grids, battery tech, etc.
