First off black holes don't exist. But rather than convince you of that let's just pretend that they do exist for a minute. Ok so Hawking showed that particles, energy, and information can in fact leave a blackhole through a kind of particle creation. Given the fact these particles come into existence in pairs, one inside the event horizon, and the other outside the event horizon, every black hole everywhere becomes surrounded by plasma. White hot plasma. At no point is this field of plasma not present in the life of a black hole. The only time you could ever witness a black, black hole is if it literally just popped into existence... silly.
You will never see a black, black hole. ever.
