Why do trucks make soibois chimp out? Has science discovered what it is that triggers the soiboi chimpouts yet?

Not a soiboi but cars in general are a very poorly designed technology. They're incredibly dangerous, require tires which we have to burn to get rid of, and above all else they release greenhouse gasses and soot particulates which require rare earth metals to catalyze and not poison people. Also the fact that self driving is incredibly hard to solve, and the amount of computation spent on doing it may not even be worth it. Also cars are hilariously inefficient. In general the only reason we tolerate vehicles is because our parents used them, so all our cities are set up to require vehicles (in America) which is awful.

Trucks are useful if you need to move stuff around but it makes more sense for your daily driver to be something like a fuel efficient sedan.

why do you think that diesel powered generators were picked over gas generators when it came time to pick a preferred power source for remotely located electric car charging stations?

All else equal they may pollute marginally less, but if you're driving a heavy duty truck and not carrying anything around then you're just wasting money.

And the real solution is electric vehicles powered by nuclear, geothermal, etc.

Why? That is not a legal speed limit, only a suggested on. Trucks corner much better than SUV's, Vans, and many sedans, due to wider tires and wheelbase, and a lighter rear. Going 20-30mph over the yellow signs speed is easy enough on dry roads.

No anon, people use trucks and cars to travel because they are useful. Not everyone wants to live crammed like sardines into areas of high population density and crime. They are so incredibly useful that a thriving industry exists based on their manufacture and sale.

Diesel engines are far more fuel efficient so they produce less carbon dioxide, but the other side products of diesel combustion are significantly harder to deal with than what you get from gasoline combustion. It's the primary reason why modern diesel engines are really expensive and complicated. So as to not shit up the local environment with nitrogen oxides and soot. They're so complicated that unless you're routinely moving a lot of heavy loads there's a high chance all the fuel savings are eaten up by the higher purchase cost and maintenance costs. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love simple old-school diesel engines. But they're just too nasty for the local air quality to be usable in cities.
