You can try, and see what happens. It tends to generate ridiculous results. Sqrt(-1) was first defined because without it certain seemingly sensible calculations were previously impossible to compute.
Also, there are certain circumstances where it is defined ...sort of. That's basically what calculus is based on. Though in those cases you don't technically divide by "0". Just some arbitrarily small non-zero absolute number, which might as well be zero.
Remember that it doesn't really matter if your definitions are "true" to reality. Math is ultimately just a set of tools. So if you define some way of dividing by zero which is useful for solving real problems then it doesn't matter how uncomfortable people are with the concept.
