If A/B/C/D = AD/BC then why does A/A/AL = AL? Shouldn't it be 1/AL? I'm not trolling or underage I'm just seriously retarded.

A/(A/AL) = A * (AL/A)
Cancelling the As, you get AL, assuming the brackets are like shown. If you have (A/A)/AL, A/A = 1, so it would be 1/AL
