Humans need: air, food, water, and medicine
To produce food you need fertilizers, soil (optionally), symbiotic bacteria and fungi.
How do you produce fertilizer on Mars? How do you extract toxic elements from Martian soil?
Medicine: you need medicinal plants and chemical equipment to extract and modify substances.
What if a plants get sick? You need to produce medicines for the plants too.
Technology? You need basic chemical elements like copper, silver, silicon, iron, rare earth metals. You need to mine these, process ore, smelt it and purify.
When you make high-purity materials you need to produce basic electronic components, how do you do that?
You need a machine to make silicon chips and first you need to build one.
You need basic industrial machinery and construction tools.
Can you do all that? A big portion of the knowledge is proprietary and factories needed to build these things are huge.
