Is industrial PhD worth it in comp sci? This means I would be employed by a company with normal salary and tuition is paid for. In return I'll be stuck with a project for many years and have to publish, etc. I am quite happy as an engineer but it's boring sometimes. Is academia be as toxic and competitive as they say?
