Considering Parmenion had A shitton of influence, accusing him openly would have weakened Alexanders power immensley, especially considering parmenion commanded his own army.
So Alexander was left with either do nothing, trust parmethion and risk getting backstabbed, accuse parmethion publicly, which could have spurred alot of inner tensions and conflict putting their conquest of the world to a complete halt. Or eliminate the risk, the threat for alexanders ambitions, which was parmenion.
So in this sense alexander was probably someone who always tryed to minimize the risk taken without compromises.... sounds harsh but back then times were different.
