I think he's an actual chemist on some european university or research institutie and has some kind of crazy high h-index and even papers published in some nature journals with like 300 citations.
He's far out the league of anyone that posts here by any quantitative metrics, but his accessible youtube meme type deboonk videos are the only thing anyone here could focus on or criticize, so that's what people do.
By all means though he's about as close to a scientist as anyone in this board is ever likely to watch. Only ones that seem a little bit better in the youtube sphere are maybe Sabine Hossenfelder and one or two other ones.
The main issue is he criticizes Elon Musk and this is just way too edgy for most redditors that take a tour through this board.
