America is definitely a super power in that American political influence is felt throughout most of the world. They dominate most of the worlds oceans and a lot of countries will consistently bend to American demands, or even American suggestions just to maintain good relations.
China has arguably achieved super power status in that Chinese trade is so important that nobody is willing to sacrifice it for the sake of political posturing. You'll notice how many governments are conspicuously quiet about Chinese human rights abuses and Chinese aggression, despite sanctioning smaller states for doing the exact same things. How media companies are willing to sensor themselves to placate the CCP and gain access to the Chinese market. Their political influence is now felt in most of the world.
Russia no longer has the means to make its will felt much beyond its border regions. Few governments or companies outside those regions give a shit what the Russian government thinks about them. Can you ever imagine the Canadian government changing it's stance on anything to placate the Russian government, the way they'll placate the Chinese or Americans? Russia is a strong regional power, and it's fighting tooth and nail to maintain that status. But they don't have the economic might to project their power all that far, except for maybe with gas exports to western Europe. As far as I can tell that's the only long distance choke hold they've got. Everything else is regional, and mostly based on their fairly potent military.
