Guy is bitter about Academia and that's fair most of them are useless and that video out of context is actually pretty good, but Alan's life mission was basically to try and prove this theory he had about how grazing could reverse ecological damage and not always using the most convincing data, much of his paper's being anecdotal or even outright using disingenuous photo comparisons of the certain bits of land he was using in his examples.
I hate that everyone just uses this as an excuse to push meat bad, plants good though, I can see why he's so hated he's an easy scapegoat even though he seems like a cool guy
