I'm unconvinced, because we haven't reconciled the issues involved with the cosmological constant and the vacuum energy valuation.
We haven't created an experiment that differentiates mass in empty space, from properties that imply mass without having mass.
There may be a duality issue there, that we aren't yet technologically advanced enough to properly probe or test for.
