Certain philosophers for example keep acting as though they they have meaningful insight into how things work, while remaining blatantly ignorant to the last 50 years of actual hard research on the topic.
Some anecdotes:
The guy who studied medicine came through mostly unchanged. Just a bit more arrogant than usual, but he had always been a bit of a prick.
The guy who studied electrical engineering came though mostly unchanged. If anything he was more down to earth by the end after his first taste of industrial practice.
The dude who studied audio engineering really found himself and came through a confident, competent and passionate about his craft, even though he used to get brainlet grades back in middle school. Didn't land him a job naturally, but he got over his hopeless loser complex. Even got a hot girlfriend.
The dude who studied language and history came through a self declared slightly gay marxist. I wish I was memeing. he also did his master degree in contemporary gender discrimination in some far off country. Thankfully he didn't become some stereotypical screeching retard; he's still a decent guy and fun to hang out with, but he's the only dude who somehow came out of uni seemingly with a weaker grasp on reality than when he entered. He complains a lot about capitalism and market forces, despite clearly having a poor understanding of said market forces. naturally he became a teacher, and off course he's is involved in politics.
