How do black holes collide if they're point objects?
Shouldn't any angular momentum result in them infinitely spiraling in towards an infinitesimal point, eventually hitting the speed of light and having infinite relativistic mass?

It's because it's at the extremes that scientific theories are put to the test.
If a theory says something holds true to infinity, you go to infinity to see if it breaks anything.

If black holes can merge when infinitely small masses should not be able to merge in finite time, does that not imply that black holes have a finite size?

I think the leading theory is that at close orbits they lose quite a lot of kinetic energy to gravitational waves until they eventually dip below each other's event horizons. There's no good way of saying what happens after that though. We're not even sure if black holes are truly point like. The normal mathematical models don't work properly below the event horizon. There's no lack of people who suspect that the "singularity" is just an artefact of incomplete math.
By the way, the fact that quantum physics are apparently incompatible with relativistic physics means that we know for certain that both theories are missing something important, but all attempts at creating a unified theory of quantum gravity have as of yet been unsuccessful. So we're stuck working with known flawed models which are still pretty good in their own right. There are just certain extreme conditions where they just don't work properly.

they can't surpass the speed of light so once they pass each-other's event horizons they're just gonna fall inwards regardless of angular momentum. at that point they're theoretically isolated from the greater universe so it doesn't really matter that much

Black holes aren't point objects. Singularity is a failure of the math. General relativity needs an extension to deal with such an extreme condition, probably involving a variable metric and speed of light which is tied to the density of the metric. The best guess as to whats in a black hole is some type of neutral matter like neutrons or something made of higher energy quarks like strange quarks. There is obviously still matter inside a black hole that has a net electric charge, angular momentum, and a finite gravitational energy.

It's a point like object in spacetime, not space. The collision occurs only in space dimensions where black holes can be as big as you want, like supermassive black holes that are 300 times as large as our galaxy. Surrounding the black hole are stars and galaxies that are in the process of being sucked in.

There are components to a black hole. There's the event horizon, the quantum extremal surface, and the surface of it itself. That's how it can have an angular momentum to explain nearby effects.

The singularity spacetime can be avoided. The black hole can generate electrons from particle pairs. It can be a 2D object.

The big principle is everything says it's easier if that spot absorbed light so that it cannot escape. When it collides it can change the gravity of nearby objects if it's easier to do.
