I am gaining almost no practical skills, but I am a great student because I am good at regurgitating information on a test. I don't feel smart, I feel soulless since my current purpose in life is to projectile vomit my brain onto paper.

Organic Chemistry. I have no interest in the chemistry field as a whole. Let's say I have a big test coming up, if I spend the week on that test reading and memorizing course material, I will do very well in that test, however, once the test is over, I forget nearly everything. I am in my final year and I feel the same as I started.

It's data that can be easily accessed. I'm not spoon-feeding you information that you can google yourself although your low IQ might actually require me to do so. The percentage of STEM students who actually end up working in STEM-related fields hovers around 40 %.

You taking pride of your STEM education, despite the increasingly low standards and one out of six or seven people having a STEM degree in the USA implies that you don't have much else going on in your life.

I've been out of school for 7 years. I don't remember what I was doing during college but it sure as hell was not studying very hard. For work (science field) I've recently had to re-learn a lot of material that I supposedly should have learned as an undergrad. What I thought I've been doing was teaching it to myself for the first time, because I have no memory of ever having learned it before. I thought I was just a very poor student who somehow slid through those classes without learning much of anything.
That may be true, but recently I found old notebooks and assignments full of the stuff that I thought I never absorbed in the first place. I evidently worked on it at some point but it feels like a past life of which I have no memory.

you sound like a neet. college makes a huge, critical difference in how people live their lives later on. unless you are fucking elon musk, you only really have 3 cases: white collar job, blue collar job, and finally self employed/mom&pop/farming etc. obviously self employment is rare and risky. so your best bet is a white collar job which requires a college diploma.
