Why isn't underground living more popular?
I mean instead of making buildings/houses vertically over the surface of the earth... why not go under the earth for making house
Benefits:
If You wanna make a high rise city like New york you get buildings and all that free space to make public parks and better roads so no more traffic
If you want suburbs you get a free piece of land to grow whatever you want or a huge swimming pool or any sport you like.
Downsides:
It might affect hormone cycles cz of reduced Vitamin D.
Ground excavation and reinforcing the structure adds cost in building.
Is there any companies looking into this?
