>>14131982It was called "Manhood Academy". The leader was called "Professor" and he was a ~50yo bald chad. It was mostly about unfucking yourself by setting up goals and learning social skills in virtual classes through practical exercise. From basic things like letting out emotions without filtering them when talking (causing the boring/annoying "monotone"), to being candid and precisely describing your viewpoints, thoughts and feelings to the point it's a reward to listen to them/read them (expression training) and finally how to set and manage your expectations with others. Often drama that happened on the forums was used as study case to elaborate how and why some of those interactions went wrong and what would have lead to a better outcome. Very often interactions in that very class were inspected deeply. Shit hit the fan often, there was a lot of heated up debate and arguments and it certainly wasn't ever boring (records were kept for reference).
There were different kind of classes for all various kinds of problems social outcasts would be likely to face. It was also scientific in a way, too. The guy didn't hide the fact that he too was still learning how to teach most effectively. Over the years things kept changing and methods evolved, were introduced or dropped. Mostly dropped, or simplified though. In the end the guy stopped doing podcasts and dropped all "homework" exercises because it became clear only live training really counts, so there was more of that instead.
It was really more of an education/rehabilitation camp or brotherhood for single mother raised guys, but from the outside it definitely looked kinda looney. It wasn't a scam though, there was a free (but outdated) book to sample and if you kept going to 2 classes and attended the schedule accountability meetings it was totally free, otherwise just 20 bux/mo.
My only regret is attending too few of the classes. They were absolutely *intense* and often brutal, hitting where it hurts. Scary.
