I don't have much experience with mph, but I think I could live with it from that one box I sampled. Certainly didn't have that bad comedown or urge to compulsively redose like you describe and that was on IR, too. I mean it wears off, but that's it. Like I said, it effects everyone differently.
You might want to ask your doc for vyvanse to check out how it works for you. It sounds like mph wasn't exactly working that well for you.
BTW 60mg is way too much for a kid with no tolerance.
