>>14131606The efficiency of learning something is decided by the amount of preexisting knowledge nodes that can be linked to it.
Every time knowledge is used - all knowledge nodes linked to it are fed and refined. And when these other nodes are used - our new node is refined.
What nodes can be linked, is decided by the nature of knowledge stored in them. Something like a law of nature can be linked to almost everything.
So, the foundation would be the amount and quality of knowledge nodes that can be immediately linked to our new knowledge. If you have a lot - the new node can be created and improved very fast.
If you have none - while inherent human tricks can always provide a modicum of energy necessary to create a node, it won't work well, won't improve and will struggle to stay alive.
At the roots of the tree of knowledge are things we truly care about. By caring, we give them energy that can be spread to the nodes linked to them.
So, a proper foundation would be a clear path between what you're learning and what you care about and a lot of relevant knowledge it can be linked to.
