Use that to your advantage. Say that all literature points in this direction, but your hypothesis could prove them all wrong. Presenting yourself as the iconoclast is very exciting to readers because it makes you sound like a fresh perspective, a new take on things.
Then you cry in the discussion/conclusion when all data points against your bullshit proposition.
