Octaazacubane is a hypothetical nitrogen allotrope in a cubane-type cluster. It's theorized to be 5 times more explosive than TNT. How would one go about actually synthesizing this chemical?

Considering that the most powerful existing chemical explosive, octanitrocubane, is about 2.38 times as explosive, I'd say it's worth it.

Worth it in what sense though? I mean if we can produce something with less power for a fraction of the cost why wouldn't we just use more of the cheap stuff? Nefarious purposes is really the only reason, since you'd more easily conceal a larger amount of destruction.

solid rocket fuel. These funny nitrogen allotropes could make for some awesome solid rocket fuels. Like so good, you could make a man portable anti satellite weapon. Yeah liquid fuel is nice, but it's hard to make liquid fueled rockets portable.
