What would the universe look like if we saw more of the electromagnetic spectrum? How would it change our understanding of things?

If we saw low frequency light, we would get blinded by it and perceive nothing. High frequency light kills. Our vision is perfectly balanced in accordance with our environment. Almost perfectly, the ability see infrared in the darkness would be neat.
