I've heard stats like 1 in 10 boys have it is this just due to declines in health or should 9 year old really be given stimulants?

If you consider that kids should shut the fuck up and stay 6 hours getting a shit ton of information for no fucking purpose other than to keep educational system flowing, and if they have a ~~natural~~ unexpected reaction like the lack of focus, irritability and anxiety, then ADHD is real and Adderall is the way to go.

The current system is designed to create factory workers who do a monotonous job for hours on end without asking questions. Kids tend to be the complete opposite of this, so the system drugs them to crush out any remaining spirit.

The education system is biased towards the female brain thats why developing male children can't focus without physical punishment or drugs. We used to have physical punishment in the past but that has stopped so we get drugs for that now. Still none of that addresses the problem that we aren't meant to be memorizing stuff we don't care about when we are little. The greek had the right idea.

Giant sham, pathologization of normal human behaviour. Anyone who gives stimulants to kids long term should be shot.
That said, I got myself a prescription for dexedrine as an adult, and it was life changing. When you are old enough to properly make the decision to take drugs to help you fit into modern society a bit better, then I don't see the issue.

Some people are born with fucked up dopamine receptors, but its not as common as you think. There is a mass over diagnosis in the USA because little timmy won't stay still in class, coupled with the fact that half of Americans are deficient in Magnesium and many more in Omega3s (both of which help greatly with ADHD symptoms). But the biggest issue is overstimulation. I thought I had ADHD but turns out that watching porn for years just fucked with my prefrontal cortex and dopamine receptors, porn literally shrinks your brain and meditation helps grow it. Ever since I quit porn and started meditating my ADHD symptoms which caused me to fail classes in high school and college went away, working out greatly helps as well.
>TLDR: take an omega3/magnesium supplement, meditate, work out regularly, quit out porn and general overstimulation. Limit internet usage.

As far as I see it, ADHD is a personality type that is reinforced when a patient is given the diagnoses of ADHD, which creates a loop of thinking you are ADHD, which then shapes your neurocircuits into someone who now actually does have "ADHD".
