>>14105096>>14105126From my understanding of my own life, and what i know about my friends sleeping habits, sleep is a necessity for working out internal contradictions that plague the mind during your waking hours.
Basically, the more mental turmoil an individual is in from holding conflicting beliefs that contradict, each sleep dream cycle is running a danger free trial and error in your mind to try and resolve cognitive dissonance.
When I was in extreme mental anguish over the years of my childhood, I could easily sleep for 10-11 hours a night, going through innumerable dream cycles because of how much mental pain I was in.
Now that I am more figured out so to speak, I can sleep for 6 hours or less and still function 100%.
Less cognitive dissonance = Sleep is just to relax and heal a bit.
More cognitive dissonance = Sleep is essential to keep the mind from falling into mental illness.
