JWST is not really a good choice for that sort of survey work, having a rather narrow field of view. It's good to look at specific known objects, but not for scanning large areas.
Nonetheless, I see one such program "JWST Medium-Deep Fields -- Hammel IDS GTO Program" at https://www.stsci.edu/jwst/science-execution/program-information.html?id=1255

You should see the telescope that discovered Neptune, focal length over 4000m, even if they had the best available Ploosl eyepiece, the field of view couldn't have been over 0.1º. Finding Neptune only 1º distant from the predicted location could have been a somewhat arduous hunt.

The field of view of JWST's widest imager is 2.2 x 4.4 arcmins or 0.037x0.073 degrees. It's not going to find planet 9, if it exists.

Sure, astronomers are interested in using JWST in looking a variety of trans-Neptunian objects. Infra-red spectra can reveal interesting information about such things.

What CNN was calling "Planet B" would be an exoplanet, not in our solar system. What OP was calling "planet /b/" could be anything.
JWST isn't well suited for finding new exoplanets, but it is better suited for characterizing known exoplanets, and perhaps elevating them to "Planet B" status.
