Why do animals that there is zero chance humans had contact with like being petted? Why do animals even enjoy being petted? I already know that improves human mentally health.

We don't typically describe it as petting per say but we've got head-rubs,noogies, pat on the head, or stroking someone's hair. Might be an erogenous zone type of deal with what animals like and don't like with pets, but humans have similar dispositions with places they like contact and not.

I don't think eel coexists with any other species bigger than it that tries to eat it's parasites. It would rather eat eel. I can't think of any separate species of equal size that like to pet each other in nature.

Yeah I guess. It's just as I said above that I've been trained to not touch fish ever as a general rule. Was surprised myself how deeply embedded it was that this webm made me feel this uncomfortable.
I guess as with any rule there are exceptions, but it's still better to be safe than sorry.
