>>14100380Trying to power through your degree like you do through your lifting session is not going to work and I say this as someone who did exactly that for most of my undergrad. You will absolutely get a high GPA if you focus only on that, but that's not a smart thing to be spending your time on. You should always balance your GPA commitment with doing things that will actually help to meet the goal you're trying to achieve with your degree; a job in industry requires a fuckton of networking and minimum 2 summer internships/placements/traineeships. An academic career needs LoRs from your professors so you need to befried 2-3 plus do an RAship etc. If you want to do your own thing then you need to commit time to your projects.
If you only GPAmaxx you will get exactly that a worthless piece of paper with a high number on it, but that's usually not enough to meet whatever goals you actually have. It's better to get a 3.9 (or 3.0 even) while being drinking buddies with 4 hiring managers than it is to be an outsider with a 4.0.
