I read that the current phase is slowly moving the mirrors off the pegs that held them in fixed position for launch, using motors whose main task is fine position adjustment. These motors move very, very slowly, so the task will take over a week. But since the following steps depend on having the instruments much cooler than now, there was no point to installing faster motors.
