>>14094678There's errata floating around IIRC, but yes, this book is terrible in hindsight. Numerous incorrect solutions, bad exposition, and terrible problem sets. I used it back nearly 10 years ago and it pales in comparison to books like Chrystal's Algebra (for peak rigor), Stitz-Zeager (what I used. a bit TOO thorough), the various MAA math books for supplemental topics (highly recommend all of Niven's texts), and of course The Little Mathematics library for excellent Russian short reads of about 100 pages or so. And Gelfand? Quite overrated, and terrible translations, too. His trigonometry book was butchered. (try Loney instead)
Lang is awful, and by his own admission he wrote this book in a matter of days. Do you wish to leave your fate in a text like that?
