because you are a caged animal, none of your behavior is actively moving you towards producing or raising offspring, which is all that truly fulfills any living creature, evolution has trained us, for millions of years to be fruitful and multiply to no end, it had no plan for us to outgrow our environment, no contingency for overpopulation besides expansion.
