>>14093955well its part of being an adult no? whether you believe in the adam and eve story or not, it is a profound allegory for life. as children we live without any care for detail or wonder, and certainly everything appears simple to us. it took adam to eat the apple for us to really grow wise to this other side of life that we just cannot see as children. as children we are loud, obnoxious, egotistical (in our little eyes, we are the only ones in this world) and all manner of terrible things. but as adults we realize our own limits and we have shame, fear, worry, etc.
a good litmus test to know if someone knows his stuff and isnt just a loud idiot is that a knowledgeable person will listen to others before all else, speak very few words, and will rarely try to impress others. while the idiot will yell and try to get the attention of everyone, show off, and will speak only ever in absolutes.
let me leave you with my favorite quotes:
"The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence."
"It is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"
