A few days ago I went to the optometrist for the first time ever because I had noticed that at night, faraway light sources appeared like picrel on the left in one eye while only being slightly distorted along one axis in the other eye. I assumed it was a bit of myopia in the former and perhaps a tiny amount of astigmatism in the latter, but as it turns out I was completely wrong and my "bad" eye is actually near perfect (-0.25 cyl) and my "good" eye is in fact farsighted (+1.00 sph & more astigmatism than the "bad" one). How can this be? Do people with perfect vision still see blurry lights in the dark? Is picrel on the right only attainable via negative overcorrection / being farsighted?
