Hair restoration has gone a long way yet anytime I see it discussed on this board all people talk about is Finasteride and transplants.

Could we get some discussion going on PRP/PRF and Exosome treatments? These seem to be the new meta for hair restoration. No life long pill taking that kills your libido, no scar leaving surgeries that just shuffle your hair around.

All the research I've done show these get pretty solid results. I'm debating trying Exosome therapy but it's 5k versus the PRP/PRF which runs about 1200. Anyone have any experience trying these methods?

What you are doing is another form of cope called FOMO. You're on fin, your libido is trashed (or never was really there to begin with) and you are afraid that a better option is now available and you worry you made the wrong choice. You also likely can't afford the treatment option.

this, if we could only remove the stigma about it, thered be a lot more happier men. i waited and waited to get on fin until i had lost an inch anda half from the front and have a very strong M shape and i look 10 years older because of it. got on fin and guess what, hair loss has paused and I had 0 side effects besides cum is more watery. libido, nipples, mood, sleep, school performance, everything is fine. i really wish i had gotten on it a year and a half earlier when it was obvious i was rapidly losing hair but before i had the hairline of a 35 year old. i shouldnt have to live my early 20s like this.

I'm trying exosome therapy this month, costs $4400 and I've been told it lasts for a long time, 2+ years before I may start to see hair loss again. In the mean time, dormant follicles will regrow and existing ones will thicken. I've seen before and after pics, it looks legitimate. I'm a rich fag so if it ends up being snake oil 4k isn't a big deal to me.

Exosome hair therapy is very new. People aren't lining up to take it because 4-5k isn't exactly pocket change and there isn't a slew of research papers, testimony, and before and after pictures to sell it yet.

Anyone trying Exosomes is essentially on the cutting edge of hair treatment. In a few years it may be the leading method for hair restoration. I'll post my results in 3 months and then again at the end of the year.

The next big thing to look out for after Exosomes are hair cloning treatments. Lot of research being done in Japan and even some Western companies are working on it. Cloning isn't an option yet though for anyone outside of clinical trials.

I have been doing PRP in combination with home care of Minoxidil and dermarolling for about 8 months. The PRP probably has an effect but there was a period from August to December where because of lockdown I couldn’t get the treatment. Despite not doing it for 3 months, my hair didn’t appear to get any worse. I’m still doing it every 6 weeks now but I’m starting to form the opinion that the home care is helping more than the PRP. The evidence behind minoxidil is pretty solid and microneedling has got a few studies to back up it’s effectiveness. I don’t take any pills or anything like that

Tl;dr minox andmicro needling worked best for me

I know the stereotype that "men are the stoic, rational gender" is bullshit, but wouldn't it be better to get over this instead of "solving" a problem our culture has created? Fin user for nearly 2 years here. Can confirm had the usual side effects. Stopped taking fin last year.

Brain fog, watery semen, loss of some body and facial hair in addition to a complete halt to future development (as an experiment I would regularly take photos of body and facial hair to test the validity of the "panphlet" I received after being prescribed the medication, that said It would not happen, boy was that a lie). I'd say I had more loss of sensation than loss of libido, but I guess you could say one could lead to the other mentally. Not being coomer brained helps too.

I'm almost certainly convinced that everyone get's the usual sides to varying degrees and the one's claiming they don't either don't notice it or don't want to admit it (honestly, how are some people going to notice brain fog when so many already fuck their bodies with shit that would cause it already).

I'd also say if you're the type of person that is into mindfulness (or even just a hypochondriac) you are going to notice the changes whether its nocebo or not. If you're the type of person who is fine with taking medication regularly for whatever reasons and doesn't think twice about how it will effect you holistically, fin might even be something you find worth considering. In saying that I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone that asked for my advice on it. But in the end it's their decision, they may have a much better experience than I did.

If someone does decide to hop on fin though, my advice would be to both expect and accept the sides as the price of keeping your hair, and if you're one of those who don't even notice them, then more power to you. I personally was completely fine with most of the sides I encountered while on fin, It was the sides I didn't know existed (because I was so used to being on fin) that were my problem. Those of which concerning how the tampering of my hormones would effect me mentally in addition to the brain fog I didn't realise how bad really was until I stopped taking fin for multiple months. Something I would attribute to hormonal changes would be how temperamental and emotional I would get than ever before. It's easy to discount that point and blame it on other environmental changes but my diet and routine has barely changed since before, during and after hopping off fin. Every since stopping however, my mood has drastically changed for the better.

It also really puts it into perspective knowing that people have used or may still use finasteride as a hormone treatment for gender transitions, although at much higher doses. I know its not the same, but I will say now I slightly empathise with these people to some degree as my hair really does feel a part of my identity, and It's a lot more difficult to just accept unwatned changes to yourself if the current fits your personality. My guess is that it wouldn't effect me as much as if I had short hair to begin with as its not as much of a step down, but being someone with relatively long hair, it's definitely been a game changer for me.

If I could give advice to someone who was in the same position as me right before I hopped onto fin that isn't some form of "just shave it bro", I personally would recommend saving for a hair transplant or hopping on minoxidil. As far as I can tell don't effect your hormones as fin does. Be prepared for minox not to last forever though as It's long term effectiveness diminishes over time. I haven't heard of any of the new therapy's mentioned by OP so I can't really speak for those however.

If you're still not convinced and you do end up hopping on fin but decide later down the road it's personally not worth it like I did, at least you will know for sure and won't be making the same mistake twice. The time spent has even made me somewhat less worried about eventually losing what I've got on top. Who knows, your hair might even stabilise to a point where you might not find it as bad as it could be.

I hope this was helpful to anyone in the position of many of us here and feels lost on what step to take. Obviously, In the end it's your decision.

Baldness is more common among men ( who live unhealthier lives than women).

Since your brain doesn't really have pain indicators (maybe headaches), maybe the body reduces headhair to indicate something is wrong. It is always the top of the head that goes bald.

So I have been looking for what is hurtful to the brain, and try to illiminate those foods.

I ate a lot of carbs (I dont eat animals), my diet was about 80% carbs i guess. Some fruits en veggies I ate. But that was it.

I was thinking about going back to the Eden-diet, and look whether this might help restore my progessive baldism.

Started thinning in grad school and it's gotten worse since starting my first teaching gig. Basically thin from brow to mid-scalp. Probably just going to bite the bullet and shave it like my brother-in-law started doing.

Did research on treatment options and it all seems like such a goddamned hassle. To each there own though.

skin resurfacing is a proven field.
These treatments sting like hell and are expensive as fuck so I don't know of any pensioner studies with participants managing to endure and afford 40 treatments.
Free clinical testing is lucky to get half a dozen treatments little less 40.

Marrying as a teenager / early 20s ? I think life would unironically be much better if this culture focused more on values like family and love and we actually had kids in our most fertile years.
One of the reasons balding is such a big problem ( in my opinion at least) is that as a man you are expected to have money before you have kids ( so you'll have them in your 30s, when your face wrinkles up and you're balding, clearly not in your primes anymore.), similar situation for women.
