Also at large scales, yes, in academia, although you can easily argue that most of this has been replaced with garbage. Unfortunately, we see in France, Britain, and America that whichever party declares itself to be more scientific acts completly contrary to scientific findings, moreso than its rival, therefore, at least as politics (and therefore, life outside the walled universities and businesses) is concerned, science is dead, and all that is left is profit.
