Possibly, I've worn glasses since I was a kid and they shielded me twice from very dangerous piercing damage. Though it might be that I take more chances because I have this protection.

I lost my shit when I was younger. There was a couple of years there where I would sometimes wake up with my eye lid like pulled under itself. That shit is worse than a leg cramp.
