This is a meaningless question, because your visual field is a experiential state, not a physical object located in space. Hence, it makes no sense to speak of where your visual field is "located", or how "close" it is to you.
If what you mean to ask is, "how close to your face can you clearly see", then from what I understand, your vision becomes clear about 4-5 inches from your eyes. Anything closer than that is difficult for your eyes to focus on.
