I dunno, 280 meters per watt is pretty good. You'd get a whole half meter just from the battery out of a wrist watch.

Solars panels are getting cheaper. Not sure if better, there have been very few advancements in commercial solar panels in the last few years efficiency wise.
Do some calculations and figure out if you can save enough on electricity for it to be profitable to you (you can't expect a faster investment return than 5 years and it will probably be twice as long).
