From the perspective of public health or epidemiology, why do our digital COVID apps track information about demographics and political views?

I know the SJW's on this board will just make false accusations about my intelligence, education status, etc., or label me some kind of far-right racist, etc., etc., and the jannies will probably just remove this thread, but I ask seriously, and in good faith: is their their any genuine epidemiological or public health justification for why these apps need to track this information? Because, from my perspective, as someone with formal training in biology, but admittedly limited knowledge of epidemiology and public health, I can't think of a single reason why any of this information is relevant to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic - which, by the way, is already winding down, and effectively an endemic seasonal respiratory infection at this point. To me, this looks like an attempt to covertly introduce and normalize something akin to a digital ID and social credit score, both of which have been objects of interest for SJW authoritarians and globalist neoliberal elites for several years now.
