I don't think AI is inevitable though, even if mathematically feasible

because it may require enormous computing ressources (CPUs and RAM, disk)
and fossil fuels come to an end, as well as rare eart elements which are required to manufacture electronics and computers

I'm thinking that it's now or never because of this
