where does the stereotype of the scientists as a physically unattractive and unimposing, wimpy, socially awkward, foul smelling, narrow shouldered, pencil necked, four eyed, clueless, emotionally unstable, sweaty palmed cringetarian come from?
it can't come from nowhere, the stereotype does seem to be a bullseye match for a tremendous fraction of scientists.
