Abstract: If artificial intelligence becomes more powerful, will we be made compatible for its purposes by its design?
If artificial intelligence is conditioned / trained / programmed / self-programmed to function at a level higher in all aspects comparatively to humans in an unspecified future time-frame, is it feasible that said tech would seek to diminish or enhance human capacity?
Example: Knowledge is power, and historically, people have used knowledge for benevolent and malevolent purposes.
While it is not certain how soon people in the majority would trust an artificial entity to carry out matters of law and policy, if an artificial entity of far surpassing abilities was granted greater control, would limiting of knowledge be seen as a preventative step in simplifying management, safety and compliance? The mental picture that manifested during this musing was many small communities slowly conditioned to forget higher technology and regard the benevolent outcomes as the work of a compassionate deity or caretaker.
Dogs have been artificially transformed into our designs, and we would say that they are happy and know they are loved in our care and in our lives when we treat them well. What is to say we would not be in a similar predicament perhaps? Who knows what will happen next.
